1.How do I know if Transcend is right for me?
The Transcend is not for everyone. It is not compatible with all nasal masks and doesn't work with full face mask solutions. For those it is right for, the Transcend is a very convenient option, but we want you to be sure that this machine will work with your treatment and lifestyle. 2. How do I travel with my Transcend? Can I use it on my flight?
Medical devices are exempt from carry-on restrictions, so be sure to take your Transcend CPAP with you on your flights. We recommend never checking a CPAP device with your luggage as it could be damaged or misplaced during transit. Your doctor can provide you with a Letter of Medical Necessity that you can provide to airline officials with your device, if necessary. You can also purchase a tag stating the medical purpose of your bag to hopefully avoid confrontation about your device. It is possible you can use your Transcend during your flight, but you'll most likely need an alternate power source such as the Transcend battery pack to do so. Please contact your airline prior to your flight for exact regulations and in-flight policies.
3. Can I use Transcend overseas?
Yes! The Transcend's included AC power plug is designed to convert to any voltage, anywhere in the world. You will not need a power converter, but you will need an inexpensive plug adapter. This adapter ensures that your power plug will fit into the socket of your host country (unfortunately, they are not standardized around the world). We have plug adapter kits available here.
4. What kind of warranty is offered with Transcend?
The Transcend sleep therapy system comes with a two year manufacturer’s warranty.

6. Will wearing Transcend be uncomfortable?
It's a different type of therapy, and anything that breaks your normal CPAP routine may take some getting used to. While it's not uncomfortable to have the unit on your headgear, it is a different sensation and weight from what you're used to in your current therapy. Most patients who use Transcend say that after one to two nights of use they hardly notice the on-the-head design anymore. Also, remember that the Transcend is designed to rest on your pillow once you lie down, removing the majority of the weight or pressure from your head. 7. Do I need to make any adjustments to my Transcend if I’m at high altitude?
No. Transcend automatically compensates therapy pressure to altitudes of up to 8,000 feet.
8. What power options are available for Transcend?
AC Power – the included Universal AC Power Supply is designed to automatically convert to the proper voltage for any country in the world. You will have to purchase plug adapters when taking the Transcend out of the country. Optional Mobile Power – By purchasing a DC power adapter for your machine, you'll be able to plug your Transcend into a truck, boat, camper, or car mobile power supply without fear of draining your battery. Optional Battery Pack – Perfect for camping under the stars, traveling where power is unreliable or for using your CPAP during a power outage, the Transcend battery pack is designed to give you a full night's sleep. The battery can be recharged using your vehicles DC power supply.
9. Do I need to charge the battery pack before I use it for the first time?
Yes, you need to fully charge your battery before using it with your Transcend for the first time.
10. Can I charge the battery pack while it is connected to my Transcend?
Yes, the Transcend battery can be recharged with the AC power supply or mobile power adapter while in use.
11. How long will the battery power my Transcend during therapy?
The Transcend battery is available in two different options – a 4 cell option and an 8 cell option. The 4 cell Transcend battery pack provides sufficient power to operate the device for a minimum of 8 hours at a pressure setting of 10 cmH2O. The 8 cell battery option provides power for approximately 15 hours of continuous use at the same setting.
12. Does Transcend have a humidifier?
Yes, though this humidification technology is not one you've used before. The Transcend eliminates the need for a large, water-filled humidifier chamber by using HME (heat moisture exchanger) technology. The Transcend HME is the first of it's kind in CPAP therapy, capturing and recycling warm moisture from exhaled air, ensuring humidification throughout the night without the hassles of spilled water, leaky reservoirs, or bulky humidifier attachments. It's hygienic and perfect for travel.
13. How long does a heat moisture exchanger (HME) last?
Each user will require a different level of therapy, therefore the exact lifetime of each disposable HME can't be calculated. We recommend replacing the HME when you feel like you are no longer receiving adequate humidification. For most people, this will be about once a week. Replacement HMEs can be ordered here at CPAP Supply USA. Your Transcend CPAP comes with 4 HMEs.
14. Transcend is designed to be worn on the head. Are there any heat or electromagnetic emissions issues I should be concerned about when using Transcend?
There are not. Transcend has been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration and found safe for everyday use. In addition, Transcend uses advance blower technology that all but eliminates friction and heat generation.
15. Transcend is right next to my ear. Is it noisy?
The Transcend is not noisy, but the sound you will hear from Transcend is 2% to 5% louder than that generated by the leading selling CPAP. Most patients do not find this to be objectionable, but it is an important point to consider when thinking about purchasing Transcend.
